TIRANA, October 23 – The sixth edition of the Tirana Marathon, the biggest sports event in Albania, was organized on Sunday with the participation of about 2500 athletes from all over the world. The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj distributed the awards for the “Marathon 42 K” category. Veliaj said that he is happy that the first prizes this year went mostly to Ukrainian athletes.
“A big round of applause for all the participants but especially for the brothers and sisters from Ukraine. Thanks to everyone. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I want to hear all your enthusiasm for the most beautiful day of Tirana in the year of youth and hopefully next year the European capital of sports. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!” said Veliaj.
Below are the winners for some of the main categories of the sixth edition of the “Tirana Marathon”.
In the Marathon 42 K category the winners for men are as follows: Bogdan Semenovych, Dario Ivanovski and Vitalii Kuznetsov, while the winners for women in the Half Marathon 21 K category are Luiza Gega, Naile Seferaj and Elisabeth Schleicher. /Argumentum.al
