TIRANA, January 27 – Cyber attacks were the focus of the meeting that the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, had with the American Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, during the official visit that he paid to the Pentagon in Washington on Friday.
Peleshi thanked the specialized American cyber defense teams for the immediate support, as well as expressed the need for further expansion for other systems in Albania.
The strategic cooperation between Albania and the United States in defense, security, as well as strengthening the political dialogue were the focus of the meeting between the two high officials.
Minister Peleshi considered 2022 a record year in terms of joint projects with the US, mentioning the start of work on the NATO tactical base in Kuçovo, the modernization of the Air Force with Black Hawk helicopters, as well as projects in military education.
During the meeting, Peleshi presented to the American Secretary of Defense the project of the new port of Porto Romano, putting the stress on the strategic importance of this port for the region, South-Eastern Europe and the NATO Alliance. /Argumentum.al
