TIRANA, April 10 – The special envoy of the United States of America for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, will arrive in Tirana on Tuesday on an official visit.
Escobar will visit Tirana on April 11-13, where he is expected to meet with high officials and representatives of the opposition, according to local media on Monday.
The US senior diplomat will meet with President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama. Meanwhile, he is expected to meet with the acting chairman of the Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj, Gazment Bardhin and Jorida Tabakun as representatives of the opposition.
The last time Escobar visited Tirana was in April of last year when he accompanied the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Karen Donfried.
The US State Department has cut any links with the Democratic Party headed by Sali Berisha because he has been declared non grata by Washington. /Argumentum.al
