“Recently, there have been several media reports on a tender for equipment financed by the World Bank for Laci hospital. We would like to clarify that there is no tender started or ongoing for the purchase of medical equipment for Laci hospital,” said a press release issued by the press office of the World Bank Office in Tirana on Tuesday.
According to the clarification, based on the World Bank procedures any tender financed by WB projects is openly published in UNDB online platform, and local media.
But the statement clarified that the Additional Financing of Health Sector Improvement Project might support this activity, however the additional financing has not yet been negotiated with the Government of Albania, to be followed by approval and effectiveness.
The WB Office concluded by saying in its clarfication that all these steps would be required to start implementation. /argumentum.al
