TIRANA, 2 December 2023 – The Serbian Foreign Minister, Iviça Dacic, revealed the reasons why the Serbian president did not sign the Franco-German plan for the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. In an interview with the media in Belgrade, he says that in this document there are some points that leave room for interpretations about the status of Kosovo.
“If the US government says this is a plan for normalization, not recognition, who can say otherwise? This is the reason why President Vučić has not signed any document. Because there are some details of this plan that we don’t agree with. We do not agree with the part that deals with any de facto or de juro recognition of Kosovo and leaves room for its entry into the UN,” Daçiç said.
On the other hand, he rejected the statements of the Serbian opposition, which accuse Vučić and his government of signing agreements that gave Kosovo the opportunity to join the United Nations.
Minister Ivica Dacic is part of the governing coalition of Aleksandar Vučić, but in these elections he is running with a coalition of his own, declaring his ambition to be the prime minister of Serbia.
