TIRANA, October 8 – The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, welcomed Jacek Sutryk, the Mayor of Wroclaw, one of the most important cities in Poland, with whom he discussed increasing cooperation between the two countries on Saturday.
Tirana holds the title of “European Youth Capital” and aims to get the title of “European City of Sports” for the next year.
“Wroclaw is a city with an extraordinary experience because it has been the European Capital of Culture, as well as one of the main cities that promotes sports. For Tirana, which this year is the European Youth Capital, and next year aims to be the European City of Sports, it is a good way to gain experience,” said Veliaj.
In addition he said that seeing the increase in the number of tourists and investors from Poland, who are involved in cultural and sports activities, means that there is a very special relationship that must be cultivated.
Veliaj invited the delegation from Poland to return to the Albanian capital to be part of the Tirana Marathon, which will take place on October 23. Participants from all over Europe will participate in this event.
