Albania's Diplomacy in New Hands after Dismissal of PM Rama by a Presidential Decree

PM Edi Rama is not anymore Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania after President Ilir Meta, decreed on Thursday his dismissal from the post assigned to Mrs. Olta Xhaçka, who was Defense Minister. Xhaçka, a close associate of Rama, replaced Gent Cakaj, who was an acting minister never decreed by President.
Also today, President Metavhas decreed the appointment of Mrs. Olta Xhaçka as FM and Mr. Niko Peleshi as Minister of Defense.
"The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has decreed today the dismissal of Mr. Edi Rama from the post of Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs and Mrs. Olta Xhaçka from the post of Minister of Defense.
"Today, President Meta has decreed the appointment of Mrs. Olta Xhaçka as Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs and Mr. Niko Peleshi as Minister of Defense," reads the announcement of the Presidency. /argumentum.al
