Greece Extends Closure of Kapshtica Border Crossing with Albania

Greece has postponed the opening of the Kapshtica border crossing with Albania for another 10 days. Although Kapshtica was scheduled to remain closed until December 4th, Greek authorities have decided to open it on December 14th.
The news was announced by the Local Directorate of Border and Migration of Kor├ža, southeastern Albania, on Thursday.
Greek Police authorities, following the measures taken by the Greek government to cope with the situation created due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have announced the extension of the deadline for blocking the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point, until 14.12.2020, it was said by Kapshtica Border Police Station.
"We clarify that until this date, the movement of pedestrians and vehicles (cars, buses and trucks) will not be allowed both at the entrance and exit of Greece.
Kapshtica Border Police calls on all citizens who want to travel to Greece during this time frame to avoid traveling to this crossing point and instead they should go to the Kakavija Border Crossing Point, where the movement continues normally," it is said in the announcement. /
