Swedish Ambassador Elsa Håstad in Solidarity with Albanian Journalists

Swedish Ambassador to Albania Elsa Håstad has condemned the detention of Albanian journalists during recent protests by police in Tirana, according to a post on Twitter by her on Monday.
Ambassador Håstad expressed her solidarity with every journalist standing up by them to work free from violence and harassment.
A few days ago two journalists were detained by police being escorted to police stations preventing them from reporting on ongoing protests due to the assassination of the 25-year-old youth, Klodian Rasha by a police officer in Tirana last Tuesday.
"We are worried to learn that Xhoi Malesia and Qamil Xhani were stopped from reporting while covering the protest," Ambassador said.
