PM Confirms Expectations for Confirmation from AstraZeneca for 360,000 Vaccine Doses

Albania looks forward to conclude the
whole process of anti-COVID vaccination within 14 months, has revealed Prime Minister Edi Rama.
An agreement is expected for 360,000 doses of vaccines with the company AstraZeneca, according to Rama on Wednesday.
"We are waiting for an important confirmation to formalize an accord on 360,000 doses with Astrazeneca. Last night we had a contact with a friendly country and we have very realistic hope that we will have another amount. We remain convinced that scenario A, that is the vaccination of the entire population within 14 months, will be carried out,'" said Rama.
The government head stated that the vaccination of 1,000 people will be completed this week, while tomorrow the process will start in Vlora as well.
"Doctors from Mati and Bulqiza are present today, we will be in Vlora tomorrow and we will continue with the nearby area. We will continue with another number of elderly people who are personalities that we should keep as good as possible and not just remember them when they die and make speeches at their funerals," said the PM.
On Tuesday, Rama was present in Shkodra, where the vaccination process for the elderly began at a nurse home in that northern city which is mentioned as one place without fatalities because the staff didn't go to their families staying all the time with the elderly.
Some 7,020 doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived in Albania on Monday, while Prime Minister Rama said on Wednesday that the arrival of all doses contracted with the American company will be completed within March. /argumentum.al
