Former SP Premier Passes Away because of COVID -19, Tributes to Him by Politicians

"The Presidency of the Assembly of Albania announces with deep sorrow that today in the early hours of the morning, the deputy Bashkim Fino passed away. The Presidency of the Assembly expresses its condolences to the family and relatives and announces that homage will be organized at the Palace of Congresses in honor of MP Bashkim Fino, today, March 29, from 11:00 to 16:00. The funeral will take place at 16:00."
 Fino had been affected by COVID-19 for several days and his condition had worsened.
Bashkim Fino was born on October 12, 1962 in Gjirokastra, southern Albania. He was the Prime Minister of country from March 9, 1997 until June 29, 1997.
His political career in the Socialist Party has started early. From 1997 onwards he was a member of the Presidency of the Socialist Party. The peak of his career would be marked in 1997, when he was elected Prime Minister of the country in the government of National Reconciliation, a position he would hold from March to July. He has held several ministerial posts.
Top political figures have expressed grief over this loss.
