Confirmation of the circulation of the Delta variant in Albania, suspected by laboratory signals and already confirmed by the Reference Laboratory in Berlin coincides with the increase of infections in this Balkan country in the last 2 weeks.

"Vaccination saves lives! Vaccines work, they reduce the chance of infection and largely avoid hospitalizations and fatalities," the statement said.
The Delta variant of Sars-Cov2 infection is the most transmitted variant, so observance of physical distancing measures, wearing of masks indoors and hygiene are essential to limit the spread of the virus.
