Tirana Will Be the European Capital of Youth Next Year

In 2022, Tirana will receive the title Tirana Youth Capital and a donor conference, attended by the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, the Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, the Communications Officer of the European Union Delegation, Sylvain Gamberg, and the Executive Director of the National Youth Congress, Dafina Peçi was held in the amphitheater near the University of Arts on Wednesday.

Veliaj stressed the importance of this event, which is not only to celebrate and have fun, but to create an important connection between young people from around the world.

"In a few months, Tirana will be the European Capital of Youth. It will be the most fantastic year for the youth, not only of Albania, but we will produce the most energetic and inspiring year for the youth of Europe. I see this as a great covenant of the boys and girls of modern Europe," he said.

According to him, Dua Lipa and Rita Ora will participate in the 1000 events which are foreseen to be held and invited others to become part of the European Capital of Youth 2022 festival.

The EU representative, Sylvain Gamberg, said that youth empowerment is a priority of the European Delegation and this title is a prestigious award for all young people in Albania, the region and Europe, because it has been won by them. / argumentum.al
