Kosovo leaders pay homage to legendary hero Jashari celebrating proclamation of independence in Vlora on Nov. 28, 1912

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani together with the Prime Minister Albin Kurti and other members of the government cabinet and MPs of Self- determination Movement (LVV) paid homage to the memorial complex "Adem Jashari" on Sunday. On the day of the celebration of the flag day and the public appearance of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK), they said that this is the fundamental day of the Albanian national identity. The head of the state, Vjosa Osmani said that they are honoring the sacrifice of whole generations, which culminated with the declaration of independence of Albania in 1912, but with other sacrifices.

"Today we started the day with the legendary commander Adem Jashari and the Jashari family to honor their sacrifice, because November 28, in addition to the symbolism of the declaration of independence of Albania and the raising of the flag, is the date when the legendary commander Adem Jashari was born., when the UCK came out publicly and all this gives a much greater meaning to the November holidays," she said.

Further on Osmani said: "Honoring the sacrifice of all those who gave their lives and efforts for our freedom, I want to congratulate all Albanians today for this important holiday of ours, hoping that a bright future of expects both the Republic of Albania and Kosovo."

"From Skanderbeg in Kruja, to Ismail Qemali in Vlora, to Adem Jashari in Prekaz and without a doubt this is a day that fills us with both joy and pride," said Kurti.
