On August 20, at the initiative of the Albanian party, a phone conversation took place between Russian Federation Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and Albanian Prime Minister, OSCE President Edi Rama.
The parties discussed the situation in Belarus in the context of the OSCE Albanian Leadership proposals to contribute to the development of dialogue between authorities and opposition. Minister Lavrov noted that it is necessary for Belarus to be allowed to solve their own affairs, to have no interference in dialogue between authorities and society and not to impose anything on Belarus citizens, in order to avoid experience of sadly of ′′ European mediation ′′ in Ukraine in February 2014. Conversators reconfirmed the important role of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in efforts to resolve the Ukrainian internal conflict, including the need to prepare objective reports on what is happening on both sides of the Donbas contact line.
