Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting in London on Monday with the Commissioner for Enlargement and Good Neighborliness in the European Union, Oliver Varhelyi.
Rama was in the United Kingdom on Monday, where he participated in the EBRD summit on investments in the Western Balkans.
He said that they discussed the further increase of investments in the framework of the EU Economic Plan for the region, as well as the situation in Ukraine and the region and the European Integration process.
Commissioner Varhelyi said that he discussed with Rama the need to open negotiations with Albania as soon as possible.
Varhelyi also stressed that “the implementation of the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans is a way for projects to come to life quickly for the benefit of the people.”
“Today, we discussed with Prime Minister Edi Rama the need to open EU membership negotiations with Albania as soon as possible, as well as the implementation of the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans, so that projects can come to life quickly for the benefit of the people,” said the Commissioner.
In the meantime Rama published a video of his meeting with the President of the EBRD, Odile Renaud in London and informed that the discussion focused on the already approved investment projects, Tirana Bypass, Vora – Hani i Hotit railway, Navigable Photovoltaic Park in Vau i Dejes and the acceleration of the process for the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline .
Rama also announced that the Durrës-Prishtina and Durrës-Lin railways, part of Corridor 8, were issues of the agenda of the meeting. / Argumentum.al
