President Ilir Meta has reacted strongly condemning the violence exercised by the state police against the Editor-in-Chief of “Koha Jone”, Qamil Xhani on Friday evening.
The violence against the editor-in-chief of “Koha Jone”, Qamil Xhani near the editorial office and his detention for several hours, is an indication that the violence against representatives of the media and civil society is inspired and organized at the highest levels of Government and Police,” said Meta in his reaction posted on social networks on Friday.

“I strongly condemn the repetition of cases of ugly and punishable violence exercised against journalists by certain members of the State Police.
The violence against the editor-in-chief of “Koha Jone”, Mr. Qamil Xhani near the editorial office and his detention for several hours is an indication that the violence against representatives of the media and civil society is inspired and organized at the highest levels of Government and Police.
I reiterate the public call and urge the Prosecution to respond immediately and bring to justice, without the slightest delay, the instigators and perpetrators of violence against journalists and media representatives.
I call on all international media organizations to react in defense of their colleagues in Albania.
I guarantee all free and independent journalists that I WILL NEVER ALLOW THE INSTALLATION OF THE LUKASHENKO MODEL IN ALBANIA,” said President Ilir Meta. /argumentum.al
