The leader of Montenegro’s opposition coalition, Zdravko Krivokapic, who has been chosen by his partners to become the country’s new prime minister, has stated that his government’s priority will be the European path.
“We will make our contribution to create the Montenegro that everyone wants,” Krivokapic said in an interview with Euronews on Friday.
While not hiding hatred for President Milo Djukanovic, who has ruled the country since the break-up of Yugoslavia in the 1990s, Krivokapic has denied pro-Russian tendencies that will oust Montenegro from Europe and put the country under the influence of Serbia’s Alexandar Vucic and Moscow’s Vladimir Putin.
“Not only will our government continue the country’s European path, but it will accelerate it by fighting Montenegro’s two main problems, corruption and organized crime,” said Krivokapic. Further on the newly designate- PM said that any information that they are pro-Serb or pro-Russian, or that there will be interruption of the negotiations with the EU is not true. “We will prove this very soon,” Krivokapic said./argumentum.al
