“On 27, 28, and 29 December vaccination will start across the EU,” European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen tweeted Thursday, referring to the roll-out of a Pfizer/BioNTech anti-corona drug, said EUobserver on Friday.
All 27 EU states would get access from 27 December, whether they were rich or poor EU members, German health minister Jens Spahn also said Thursday in an online meeting, in what he called an “important signal of European solidarity”.
No mention is made of the aspirant countries of the Western Balkans which are in the process of accession talks in different stages.
Albanian authorities had put earlier strong hopes announcing publicly that EU would supply it with a contingent for the medical staff and vulnerable people. Likewise PM Edi Rama has provided no information at all what he achieved during his US trip supposed to strike a deal with Pfizer.
