Six victims and 489 new cases infected by COVID -19 is the balance sheet of the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of daily cases identified by 1,954 tests since the outbreak of the pandemic, according to the daily medical bulletin released by local health authorities on Friday.
The victims are a 66-year-old from Durrës, a 70-year-old from Kukës, two 75-year-olds from Tirana, a 79-year-old from Elbasan and an 81-year-old from Kavaja, who suffered from concomitant diseases.
Currently in the 3 COVID hospitals, 350 patients are being treated, and 9 are in intensive therapy of which 4 patients are intubated. On the other hand, it is learned that 165 people recovered during the last day.
The number of active cases has reached 10, 800 people and almost 50% of them are located in Tirana. So far Albania counts 549 victims of coronavirus.
Given the increase in cases in recent days, the Ministry of Health has addressed the citizens with an appeal for the implementation of preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus, demanding compliance with the rules of hygiene, physical distancing and wearing a mask in any environment outside the home.
“It is imperative that all citizens be contributors to the battle for health, protecting themselves and others, so as not to overload hospitals,” appeals the Ministry of Health, asking all citizens who are confirmed or awaiting a response test to remain isolated, respecting the obligation of self-quarantine. /argumentum.al
