Albanian Colonel Myslim Pashaj has said that it would be good for Albania to resume the negotiations on the pending question of of territorial sea waters with Greece.
Speaking about the issue of maritime expansion from 6 to 12 miles by Greece in the Ionian Sea and what Albania is in danger to News24 TV on Saturday Pashaj was of the opinion that an agreement is needed for this, while emphasizing that it would be good for it for the negotiations to restart.
He added that in terms of the division of maritime space Albania and Greece are not equal to each other due to geographical conditions. According to Pashaj, the most problematic question is the cluster of islands northeast of Corfu.
He emphasized that the mistake of the 2009 agreement that should not be repeated is the division of the maritime space with a middle line because he considers it as a great loss for Albania and fatal for the agreement.
“Negotiations are frozen because changes are being made in the negotiating group. But it seems very good for Albania to resume negotiations to clarify the problems,” said Pashaj./argumentum.al
