Leaders of the Western Balkans and the European Union will meet in Bulgaria on November 10th this year as part of the ‘Berlin Process’ to approve a plan to establish a common regional market.
Among other things, the media suggest that the European Commission has stated that the plan has been drafted, but the document will be ready in November for being approved at the Sofia Summit.
“The plan should be structured around the free movement of people, services and products, as well as concrete measures that will bring tangible benefits to companies and citizens in the region. This includes the reduction of technical barriers in trade, investment policies, and the recognition of professional qualifications in the region “, it is said, among other things, in the announcement of the European Commission.
For the first time the Berlin Process is headed by a co- presidency, Bulgaria and North Macedonia, which was decided at Poznan Summit in July 2019.
The German sponsored ‘Berlin Process’ was launched in 2014 and its goal was to reach a joint agreement on strengthening regional co-operation in the Western Balkans and resolving many pending issues in the region./argumentum.al
