“The Albanian Parliament through its Law Commission has rejected the decree of the President of the Republic on the Electoral Code, there are many arguments for overthrow that accompany the decree, but what I mean is that the result belongs to the majority of the deputies of the Assembly to give the entry into force of changes to the Code.”
This was the announcement made by the head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla on Tuesday who claimed that waiting for an opinion from Venice Commission would plunge Albania into a dangerous spiral.
“Ilir Meta did not intend to improve the electoral framework in the Republic of Albania with this decree, but as always his extremist position has been to undermine the normal holding of the April 25 elections,” said Balla./argumentum.al
