Albania has always been interested in the progress, prosperity and sustainable advancement of North Macedonia in the European integration processes, has said President Ilir Meta.
This pledge was made by the state head in a meeting with the new Ambassador of North Macedonia, Dancho Markovski, on the occasion of the presentation of his credential letters on Saturday.
President Meta expressed his wishes to Ambassador Markovski for the success of his diplomatic mission in Albania in the benefit of further strengthening of the very good relations between the two countries and people. He stressed the importance of closer economic and trade cooperation through bilateral projects, regional infrastructural connections, especially for the benefit of citizens of cross-border areas. In addition Meta expressed confidence that the two neighboring countries, allies in NATO, and with a common Euro-Atlantic vision, will further strengthen relations for the benefit of peace, stability and development of the region.
Albanian President considered the well-deserved unconditional decision of the EU in March to start the accession talks as an important milestone for the journey of North Macedonia towards the European family and a guarantee to overcome any obstacle in this important process for it and the whole region.
