“The big problem between Albanians and the future is called (president) Ilir Meta and LSI (Socialist Movement for Integration). This is the big problem that must be solved in the next elections and I believe that it will be solved,” PM Edi Rama told the Assembly of the ruling Socialist Party (SP), which he leads, on Friday.
In his 2-hour speech he asked for a third term of office by targeting LSI and President Ilir Meta in a discourse lasting more than half an hour.
Scheduled since last February, the Socialist Party Assembly convened only on Friday due to the Covid-19 pandemic in an open space at the Amphitheater in the area of the artificial lake of Tirana.
Two were the main points of the Assembly, the speech of the party chairman and Prime Minister Edi Rama, and the election of the governing bodies of the Party.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Rama requested that the party chairmanship not be changed for another year, while the reorganization of the secretariat was left for a later time.
Unlike the envisaged agenda of the Assembly the new governing bodies of the SP will probably be formed only after the next parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on April 25 next year.
The Socialist Party chairmanship consists of 29 members, 20 of whom were elected by vote, the Chairman, the General Secretary and the 7 Executive Secretaries.
The rest of Friday’s meeting included organizational issues related to the approval of draft regulations for the organization and functioning of the Party chairmanship, local organizational structures of the party, local electoral structures, Code of Ethics etc.
Asked by journalists at the end of the meeting why he didn’t disclose the videos requested by Meta, Rama replied: “I have closed it with the film studio since the way was opened to watch films produced abroad. Ilir Meta has a micro film studio in Ilir Meta’s brain. I do not have it. I do not deal with videos and assholes of this level. Ilir has become the only copy that has left behind the original.”
In a tit-for-tat reaction President Ilir Meta labelled Prime Minister Edi Rama and his close collaborator Elisa Spiropali, a minister, ‘integration jokers’.
Meta reminded them that he does not do acting with the history of the nation and that the house where he was born hosted dozens of partisans and that their blood is in the foundations of that house.
Calling them ordinary stealers the President said: “I am Ilir Meta and you will always be faced with me!”/argumentum.al
