President Ilir Meta has demanded the resignation of PM Edi Rama because of the violation of the June 5 political agreement on electoral reform
“Edi Rama has committed a criminal act with the violation of June 5,” said Meta in TV talk-show on Monday evening.
President warned that there is no opening of accession negotiations with the EU after the violation of the June 5 accord.
“What Edi Rama can do more than resign after he has devastated and destroyed the country,” Meta said.
Further on he said that Albania has also held hostage North Macedonia regarding the start of the talks with the Union. However, that country’s prime minister, Zoran Zaev, resigned after the failure to open the negotiations.
“Now the division between the two countries is inevitable. There is no geopolitical reason. In the end, this integration work is based on individual merits,” said Meta./argumentum.al
